Since March 8th is International Women's Day, I thought it would be a good idea to reflect on the cybersecurity sector and ask ourselves what can we do better to encourage women into cybersecurity roles; and to feel comfortable, confident and able in these roles?
Great question and topic Ben! Women still make up a small percentage of those working in cyber so it's clear there's a need to keep this conversation going. For me, it would start with education - making girls and young women aware of the benefits of a career in this sector. And then positive role models who can provide mentorship and guidance. We also know there are too few women in leadership roles so support for working mothers - whether through flexible working, part-time roles or childcare support - would also be a real positive and encourage more women to stay in this sector.
